At Kartal Carpets, we combine our production experience in the carpet and yarn industries with an understanding of environmental and social responsibility. We approach sustainability not merely as the management of environmental impacts, but as an integrated management approach extending from raw material selection to production, from energy and resource use to our employees, and from the supply chain to the product life cycle.

We measure, evaluate and continuously improve our processes to reduce the environmental impacts of our production activities, use resources more efficiently and further develop our responsible production approach. We consider environmental management, energy efficiency, emissions monitoring, waste reduction, the use of recycled materials and social compliance as key components of our sustainability approach.

1. Climate Change and Emissions Management

We consider climate change one of the important environmental issues affecting our operations and value chain. We systematically address key performance areas such as energy consumption, emissions and resource use in order to monitor and reduce the environmental impacts arising from our production activities.

In line with our ISO 14001 Environmental Management System approach, we aim to continuously improve our environmental performance, expand practices that increase energy efficiency and reduce the environmental impacts of our production processes.

Energy Efficiency and Renewable Energy

We carry out process improvement, technological modernization and energy performance monitoring activities to make energy use in our production processes more efficient. We assess opportunities to increase the use of renewable energy sources and continuously improve our energy management approach.

Monitoring and Reducing Emissions

We continue to develop our efforts to measure, monitor and reduce greenhouse gas emissions arising from our operations. Based on the data obtained, we evaluate process and technology improvements that may contribute to reducing emissions intensity.

2. Resource Efficiency, Zero Waste and Circular Economy

Efficient use of resources and the management of waste in line with a circular economy approach are among the fundamental elements of our sustainability efforts. Within the scope of our Zero Waste Certificate, we systematically continue practices aimed at reducing waste generated by our production activities at source, separating it according to type, managing it appropriately and directing it to recovery processes.

We focus on reducing material losses in our production processes, increasing resource efficiency and bringing recyclable materials back into the economy.

Waste Reduction and Recovery

We continuously improve our processes to reduce waste generation in production processes, separate waste at source and direct it to appropriate recovery channels. We attach importance to process improvement efforts aimed at increasing production efficiency and reducing material losses.

Recycled and Responsibly Sourced Materials

We carry out efforts to increase the use of recycled materials in our product development and production processes; in raw material selection, we consider quality, performance, traceability and environmental impacts together.

Zero Waste Management

Within the scope of our Zero Waste Certificate, we systematically implement our waste management practices and support the efficient use of resources.

Circular Product and Process Innovation

Through our R&D and product development activities, we work on solutions that support the use of recycled materials, resource efficiency and waste reduction in production processes.

3. Measuring Environmental Performance and Continuous Improvement

We believe that progress in sustainability performance is possible through measurement, evaluation and transparency. We evaluate our environmental performance across key areas such as energy use, greenhouse gas emissions, water and wastewater management, air emissions, waste management and chemical management; we identify areas for improvement and continue our improvement efforts.

Through our management systems and environmental performance assessment processes, we use the findings obtained to define our objectives and further develop our improvement activities.
